The Silent Gliss 7670 Standard Motorised Metropole is an ideal choice when you want the convenience of electric curtains without the appearance of a conventional motorised curtain track.
At first glance, the 7670 has the clean, decorative appearance of a contemporary curtain pole. Within the 38mm Metropole profile, however, the curtains run on gliders rather than traditional curtain rings. This allows the system to retain a streamlined pole design while providing the smooth movement associated with a Silent Gliss curtain track.
Available in a choice of 13 finishes, with a selection of coordinating finials and end caps, the 7670 can be styled to sit comfortably within both modern and more traditional interiors. The relatively slim 38mm profile also helps the pole feel elegant rather than overly dominant at the window.
The 7670 Standard uses the Silent Gliss 9060 motor to open and close the curtains smoothly and quietly.
Soft start and soft stop operation gives the curtain movement a controlled, considered feel, while Touch & Go makes everyday use particularly intuitive. Simply give the curtain a gentle pull and the motor takes over to complete the opening or closing movement.
There is also a manual override, so the curtains can still be moved by hand in the event of a power cut.
The Standard version of the 7670 is designed without radio control.
It can be operated from a suitable wall switch or incorporated into a compatible home or building automation system. This makes it particularly well suited to rooms where a neat, permanent control arrangement has been planned as part of the interior.
As the system is hardwired, installation should be carried out by a suitably qualified electrician.
The 7670 is not limited to straight windows. It can also be professionally shaped for bay windows, curved glazing and other more individual window layouts.
This makes it an attractive option where a conventional straight electric curtain pole would not suit the architecture of the room.
The 7670 is currently bent and assembled by Silent Gliss, rather than within our own workshop, allowing the finished system to be produced to the required window shape before installation.
The 7670 works particularly well with Wave curtains, where the regular folds complement the clean, contemporary appearance of the Metropole profile.
It can also be used with most traditional curtain heading styles, making it a versatile option for both relaxed and more formal curtain designs.
Eyelet curtains are not suitable, as the curtains are suspended from gliders running within the pole rather than passing directly over it.
For larger windows or more substantial curtains, the 7670 can accommodate systems up to 6 metres with curtain weights of up to 45kg, subject to the individual system configuration.
What is the Silent Gliss 7670?
The Silent Gliss 7670 is a motorised decorative curtain pole from the Metropole range. It gives you the appearance of an elegant curtain pole, while the curtains actually travel on gliders concealed within the profile.
What is different about the 7670 Standard?
The 7670 Standard does not include radio control. It is designed to operate from a suitable wall switch or through a compatible building or home automation system.
Is the Silent Gliss 7670 hardwired?
Yes. The 7670 Standard requires a hardwired electrical supply and should be installed by a suitably qualified electrician.
Can the Silent Gliss 7670 be used in a bay window?
Yes. The pole can be professionally shaped to suit bay windows, curved glazing and other shaped window layouts.
The 7670 is currently bent and assembled by Silent Gliss before being supplied to us.
Can I use Wave curtains with the Silent Gliss 7670?
Yes. The 7670 is compatible with Wave curtain heading, and the clean folds of a Wave curtain work particularly well with the simple Metropole profile.
Can I use traditional curtains with the 7670?
Yes. The system is suitable for most traditional curtain heading styles as well as Wave curtains.
Eyelet curtains are not suitable because the curtains are suspended from gliders inside the pole rather than passing over the outside of it.
What is Touch & Go?
Touch & Go means you can gently pull the curtain by hand to start the movement. The motor then takes over and finishes opening or closing the curtains for you.
It is a particularly useful feature when you are already standing beside the window and do not want to use the wall control.
What happens during a power cut?
The 7670 has a manual override, allowing the curtains to be moved by hand if the electrical supply is unavailable.
Is the 7670 suitable for heavy curtains?
Yes. The system can accommodate curtain weights of up to 45kg, depending on the configuration, making it suitable for larger windows and more substantial curtain fabrics.
What colours can I choose from?
The Silent Gliss 7670 is available in 13 colour finishes, with a selection of coordinating finials and end caps so the finished pole can be chosen to suit your room and curtain design.
